Michigan flips USF linebacker commit Kaden Catchings
Michigan has add another piece to its 2026 recruiting class, with three-star linebacker Kaden Catchings flipping his commitment from USF to the Wolverines, according to Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett.
The Jackson (Miss.) Hartfield Academy standout had only been pledged to the Bulls for a few weeks, which came after an early verbal to Liberty. Now on his third commitment, he looks to have found his home at the next level.
Catchings took an official visit to Ann Arbor earlier this month after receiving an offer, and the Wolverines made a major impression on that trip.
“I think I would fit right in,” Catchings told TheWolverine.com. “They kind of run a scheme like we run in high school. I could be used the same way I am now. I think it really fits me. I liked the way the linebackers played.”

The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder is ranked as the No. 35 athlete and No. 1319 overall prospect in the country, per the Rivals Industry Ranking, an equally weighted average that utilizes all three major recruiting services.
Rivals, however, is a bit higher on him, tabbing him as the nation’s No. 30 athlete. The Wolverines are recruiting him to play linebacker at the college level, giving them their third commitment at that position in this cycle. Three-star Aden Reeder flipped from Wisconsin on November 6, while fellow three-star Markel Dabney has been in the fold since June 27.
As a senior this fall, Catchings has totaled 29 tackles and two sacks on defense for Hartfield Academy. On the offensive side, he has added 337 rushing yards and six touchdowns.
