Marquez Dortch becomes 2nd Ole Miss recruit to decommit Sunday
Lucedale (Miss.) George County four-star wide receiver Marquez Dortch decommitted Sunday from Ole Miss.
“I’ve been committed to Ole Miss for 11 months and it’s been a great time while being committed,” Dortch tweeted Sunday. “It was so much love and support! But I’ve made a decision that I would like to decommit from the University of Mississippi. And with that being said, my recruitment is 100% open.”
Marquez Dortch is the second four-star prospect to decommit Sunday from the Rebels after Gautier (Miss.) four-star offensive tackle Bryson Hurst.
“I would just like to say that during these three months of my commitment Ole Miss has treated me well,” Hurst tweeted. “With that being said, I will be decommitting from the University of Mississippi and bringing my recruiting back open.”

Marquez Dortch is the No. 201 player in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
The Rebels class now has 12 commits, including four four-star players: Donalsonville (Ga.) Seminole County cornerback Nick Cull, Cross Plains (Tenn.) East Robertson wide receiver Taylor Groves, Madison (Miss.) Germantown defensive lineman Zxavian Harris and Moss Point (Miss.) wide receiver Larry Simmons.
