Intel: Arizona State, Florida State battling for TE Landen Miree
Cincinnati (Ohio) Princeton tight end Landen Miree is closing in on a commitment date on Friday July 11. He’s got a final four of Arizona State, Baylor, Florida State and Washington. But there are two programs really separating from the pack at this point.
Arizona State has been trending in the RPM lately, emerging as a heavy favorite in the recruitment.
“With Arizona State the relationships between me and the coaches, we’ve been at it for about a year and a half now,” Miree said. “They’ve been persistent with it the whole way through. They’ve probably been the most real coaches I’ve talked to during this recruitment process.”
But the other program to watch here is Florida State. Coach Mike Norvell and staff have done a good job recruiting the Ohio native.

“Florida State, they’ve got a rich tradition,” Miree said. They are a historic program. I know they had a bad year last year, but they’re always gonna be in the conversation and a team to beat.”
Both teams’ pitch has been similar about how they’d like to use him in the offense so that won’t be much of a separator. The tight end room at Arizona State is a little lighter so the path to early playing time could be quicker in Tempe.
But the offensive fit seems to be better in Tallahassee. That’s why this race is going back and forth in the final hours ahead of his public announcement. We also have to see where the final NIL packages come in at. There is still negotiating to be done in that area which could swing this recruitment in the end.
The race for Miree’s pledge has seen several teams hold the momentum through the recruitment. Both Arizona State and Florida State are building a nice 2026 recruiting class. The Sun Devils are trending up in the Big 12 while Florida State is working on a top 10 2026 class.
