Houston flips 2026 OL Noah Abebe away from Tulane
Just ahead of National Signing Day, Willie Fritz and the Cougars again dug out their spatula.
Houston flipped 2026 interior OL Noah Abebe away from Tulane on Tuesday and will ink with the Cougars this week.
Abebe collected an offer from Houston during a terrific senior season for nearby Friendswood (Texas) High School. He logged an official visit two weekends ago and has continued to grow more fond of his fit in the Cougars’ program.
“The pros for Houston are, it’s close to home,” Abebe told Parker Thune of OU Insider this week after wrapping up both official visits. “They’re playing well right now. The head coach isn’t going nowhere … You’re playing the best of the best, and that’s how you get to the NFL. But I do think I could get to the NFL from anywhere.”

The Cougars edged Oklahoma, which was also working to flip Abebe away from his early pledge to Tulane. He was also highly coveted by the incoming staff in Gainesville.
Abebe is tabbed as the No. 130 interior offensive line prospect in the 2026 cycle. He is scheduled to enroll early in January.
