Georgia legacy Kedric Golston II commits to Tennessee
Rutgers was in the mix and Virginia Tech made a run, but Ashburn (Va.) Stone Bridge linebacker Kedric Golston II knew he wanted to play in the SEC. The Georgia legacy took his official visit to Tennessee and he left Knoxville knowing he wanted to be a Vol.
“I love the overall culture of Tennessee,” Golston told On3. “I love their coaching staff and feel the love every time I step on campus. The relationships I had with the coaches really put them high on my list.”
Those relationships were built over time. Over two dozen schools offered the 6-foot-2, 220-pound four-star. He received the offer from Josh Heupel and his staff before he started his sophomore season. Rodney Garner coached his father at Georgia and that connection carried over.

“I feel that I have the best connection with coach G. I like him because he keeps it straight and because he will let you know when you’re wrong or right. We have known each other for a long time and I know I can trust him.”
The head coach factored into the decision as well.
“I like that coach Heupal is the same guy on and off the field,” Golston said. “He has a lot of positive energy that he brings to the guys and that brings the culture up.”
Golston is Tennessee’s 10th commitment this cycle and they are expected to add more in the coming days.
