Colorado lands a commitment from IMG Academy WR Christian Ward
IMG Academy receiver Christian Ward announced his commitment to Colorado on Wednesday during a live broadcast on the Rivals YouTube page.
The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Ward chose to play for head coach Deion Sanders and the Buffs over his other favorites in Arizona State, Michigan and Alabama.
“Really Coach Prime was a big part of it but I love the coaches, the atmosphere, the team,” Ward said.
Ward becomes commit No. 13 for Sanders and Colorado in the 2026 recruiting class. Rashad Davis and Jason Phillips were some of the other staffers he was close with in Boulder.

“I talked to the coaches and Coach Prime a lot,” Ward said. “It wasn’t an easy school to go to so I wanted that push. I feel like it would be better for me to go to the league getting pushed by Coach Prime.”
Ward took his official visit to Colorado for the win over Delaware.
“Just the way they show love to my family,” Ward said. “All the coaches and staff. I feel connected with all of them. The receiver coaches I liked the way they push their receivers and it’s different and they have a lot of experience.
“I want to be pushed by the best and hopefully make it to the next level and I feel like it’s the right choice to go to Colorado and play for the best coaching staff.”
