BYU lands a commitment from ATH Braxton Lindsey

Braxton Lindsey is heading out West.

The touted 2026 athlete out of Rogers (Ark.) High committed to BYU — choosing the Cougars over Oklahoma, Mizzou and Arkansas.

Lindsey’s time in Provo on June 20 moved the needle in favor of BYU during crunch time of his decision-making process.

“It was really between BYU and two other schools, but I just felt the family-oriented people and the culture there was the best I’ve ever been around,” said Lindsey, who gave Kalani Sitake a silent commitment during his official visit.

“I want to be there. I want to be at a place where I wake up and want to go to work with those people every day,” he added.

The Cougars have been trending up with the three-star ATH for the latter portion of the spring, then started to separate from the pack after official visits concluded.

His time in Prevo pushed BYU over the top.

“They were one of my top schools and I prayed a couple of days before to let me know it was right,” Lindsey detailed. “I knew after the first day there it was going to be home.”

Lindsey bolsters BYU’s 2026 recruiting class — which is ranked inside the top-50 of the Rivals Team Rankings.

The touted ATH will enroll in January — and is ready to begin his journey out West.

“I was with Nehemiah (Kolone) from Stillwater, Ryder Lyons, for an official visit group — and that’s the closest that I’ve ever been around. Everyone was just vibing and having a good time. That was the closest official visit as far as recruits that I’ve been around,” he explained.

“Coach Pop (Kelly Poppinga), Coach Sitake … they loved it. Everyone was excited all the way around,” Lindsey continued. “I’m excited to play for those dudes.”
