Alabama DL commit JJ Finch "forces a double team"
Indianapolis (Ind.) Warren Central defensive lineman and Alabama commit JJ Finch didn’t get the result he was looking for on Friday night in a 42-7 loss to rival Carmel (Ind.) High.
But the Alabama commit flashed several times. The 6-foot-3, 275-pound made a few plays around the line of scrimmage and impressed with his combination of size and quickness.
“You have to double team him,” Carmel head coach Kevin Wright said. He actually coached his father Jerimy Finch and they all visited together on the field after the game.
“He’s a load,” Wright continued. “They do have some really good players but JJ forces a double team.”
Finch came into this game with 38 tackles, 10 stops for loss, 14 hurries and three sacks. He’s got good feet, quickness and strength at the point of attack. Finch can flow horizontally to the football.

“I told him you’re going down there to my guy (Alabama Director of Sports Performance) David Ballou,” Wright said. “He’s going to get you right.”
Finch recently told Rivals that while other schools have reached out, his only visit planned is to Alabama for the LSU game.
Finch is part of an Alabama class that Rivals ranks No. 7 nationally. For more on a loaded Carmel team that beat the Warriors, click here.
