4-star WR Corey Barber backs off his pledge to Ole Miss
Corey Barber loves Ole Miss. The playmaker out of Pinson (Ala.) Clay-Chalkville committed to the Rebels in May, but after the coaching change in Oxford, he is going to take a step back in his recruitment.
“I am going to back off my commitment to Ole Miss,” Barber told Rivals. “I have some great relationships there, it is a scheme I liked a lot, and now I have to consider my options.”
One of those options might be LSU. Since being announced as the head in Baton Rouge, Lane Kiffin and George McDonald, the receivers coach who is following Kiffin, have been in contact with the No. 167 prospect in the Rivals Industry Ranking.
“I have been talking with Coach McDonald today. He is a great guy and we have a great relationship. LSU is now a school I have to consider.”

Barber said Alabama and Washington were other schools on his radar. The four-star is focused on playing for state championship later this week, but before then, he plans to put pen to paper and sign with a school.
“I am still signing on Wednesday,” Barber said. “There is a lot to think about, and a lot has happened, but I still plan to sign on Signing Day.”
