4-star C Moustapha Diop receives release from Georgia Tech, reopening recruitment
Moustapha Diop, a four-star center in the 2026 class, has received his release from Georgia Tech and will reopen his recruitment, a source told Rivals.
The Yellow Jackets parted ways with head coach Damon Stoudamire earlier this month, prompting Diop to re-evaluate his options.
The 6-foot-10 senior out of Overtime Elite (GA) is ranked as the No. 84 overall recruit in the 2026 class, per the Rivals’ Top-150 Rankings. He’s also the No. 10 ranked center and the No. 5 player in Georgia.

Diop committed to Tech in November 2024 and signed with the program a year later.
Prior to his commitment to Tech, he received offers from Ole Miss, Georgia, UCF, Alabama, Auburn, Missouri, and others.
Here is what Rivals’ national recruiting analyst Jamie Shaw had to say about his game:
“Diop has a great frame with long arms and is a very fluid athlete. He plays his best in the open floor and finishing out of the dunker spot in the half-court. Adding strength could help him, along with adding to his offensive skill set.”
