2027 4-star safety Trae Collins decommits from Ole Miss
The dominoes are already falling amidst Lane Kiffin’s departure from Ole Miss to coach at LSU.
Four-star safety Trae Collins has decommitted from the Rebels with the news of Kiffin leaving, he told Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett. The 2027 prospect out of Ridgeland (Miss.) had been been pledged to Ole Miss since May, when he chose them over a host of Group of Five and FCS offers.
But with the uncertainty around who will be on staff under the next Rebels coach, he is reopening his recruitment and exploring other options.
The 6-foot-2, 175-pounder is the No. 411 overall prospect and No. 38 safety in the 2027 class, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, an equally weighted average that utilizes all three major recruiting services.

Rivals, however, tabs him as the nation’s No. 168 prospect, No. 18 safety and No. 8 player in the state of Mississippi.
Collins is coming a junior season where he totaled 55 tackles, 10 pass breakups, five interceptions and a pair of TFLs for Ridgeland.
