2023 4-star LB Isaiah Crawford decommits from Baylor

Post (Texas) four-star Isaiah Crawford decommitted Tuesday from Baylor.

“I want to thank all of the Baylor staff for believing in me and giving me a chance at the next level,” Crawford tweeted. “After talking with my family, I will be decommiting from Baylor. My recruitment is 100% open!”

Crawford was recruited by former Baylor assistant coach and newly-hired Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire.

McGuire was hired Monday by the Red Raiders and immediately started recruiting. On his first day on the job, he extended multiple offers and snagged three commits — all from his old stomping ground of Cedar Hill (Texas) High.

Texas Tech had offered Crawford before McGuire was hired.

Crawford holds offers from Arizona State, Colorado, Illinois, Illinois State, Mississippi State, SMU and Utah.

Post High is a 2A school in Texas, which is the smallest classification of schools playing 11-man football in the state. Through the first nine games of this season, Crawford had 71 tackles, 11.0 tackles for loss and four sacks. He also played on offense, where he had 86 carries for 508 yards and three touchdowns.

Kingsville (Texas) H. M. King offensive lineman Justin DeLeon is now the only commit in the 2023 Bears recruiting class.
