Cruze Miethke

My name is Cruze Miethke. I am 15 years old and a sophomore at DeSoto County High School in Arcadia, Florida. I was born in Queensland, Australia, and moved to Florida with my family just over four years ago. I’ve been playing football for four years, and I fell in love with the sport the first time I stepped on the field. During my sophomore season, I was honored to be selected to the Florida Sun Preps All-Area Second Team for offense. That recognition meant a lot to me because of the work I’ve put in and my commitment to improving every day. I am a Varsity starter. This season, I’ve played Defensive Tackle, Offensive Guard, Center, and Long Snapper. I take pride in my versatility and in stepping up wherever my team needs me. This past season, I recorded 46 pancake blocks, 35 tackles, 11 assists, 3 sacks, and 2 field goal blocks. In addition to football, I have a strong martial arts background. I have trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since I was five years old and competed in tournaments throughout Australia. I continue to train in my spare time, and BJJ has taught me mental and physical discipline, body control, and how to properly leverage my strength. I am passionate about contact sports and have learned a great deal about football in a short amount of time. Outside of football season, I stay active by competing in JV basketball, Varsity weightlifting, and Varsity track and field. Last year, I broke my school’s freshman discus record with a throw of 29.35 meters. My goal is to maintain a GPA above 3.5 and pursue the opportunity to play football at the next level. I am a hardworking, dedicated, and coachable athlete who is committed to growing both on and off the field. I’m excited for the next three years and ready to continue developing as a student-athlete.
