Former Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Trysten Hill is facing serious legal trouble. He has been arrested in Texas on multiple charges, according to reports.

Hill, 28, was taken into custody on March 26 and charged with “assault of a pregnant person” and “interfering with an emergency request for assistance,” per jail records obtained by Fox 4 and cited by the New York Post. He was booked into the Wayne McCollum Detention Center in Ellis County.

Authorities also confirmed Hill was held on a $3,500 bond tied to two bond-forfeiture warrants stemming from a 2025 criminal investigation. Additional details surrounding the alleged incident remain limited, including the identity of the pregnant woman and her relationship to Hill.

A mugshot released following the arrest quickly circulated online, drawing attention as Hill appeared to be smiling in the photo. That detail added another layer of scrutiny to an already troubling situation. Hill has yet to publicly comment on the charges.

The arrest marks the latest chapter in a turbulent stretch for the former second-round pick, whose NFL career never fully matched early expectations. Hill was selected No. 58 overall by the Cowboys in the 2019 NFL Draft after a standout collegiate career at UCF, where he showed flashes of disruptive ability along the defensive line.

However, his time in Dallas was marked by inconsistency and limited production. Across four seasons with the Cowboys, Hill appeared in just 25 games, totaling 39 tackles and half a sack before being released midway through the 2022 campaign. He later had brief stints with multiple teams but struggled to carve out a lasting role.

After Dallas, Hill joined the Arizona Cardinals and appeared in six games, recording six tackles and one sack in a reserve role. He then signed with the Cleveland Browns in March 2023 but was released before the start of the season.

Moreover, Hill’s most recent NFL opportunity came with the New England Patriots, where he spent time on the practice squad and appeared in one game during the 2023 season. He was released in October 2024 and has remained unsigned since.

Now, his future, both professionally and personally, is uncertain. As the legal process unfolds, the situation will likely draw continued attention given the nature of the charges. For Hill, once viewed as a promising young defensive lineman, the focus has shifted far beyond football.
