Tony Vitello stops mid-sentence while comparing Rafael Devers to Tiger Woods

San Francisco Giants manager Tony Vitello hilariously stopped mid-sentence when beginning to compare Giants third baseman Rafael Devers to 15-time Major Champion Tiger Woods Friday morning. Understandable catch.

Vitello planned on comparing how Devers gets fired up at himself to cool himself down, just like Tiger Woods is known for. However, with the recent news around Woods, Vitello stopped himself and buried his head in his hands while chuckling.

Just one week before The Masters, Woods was arrested for misdemeanor DUI and property damage after being involved in a rollover car crash on March 30 in Jupiter Island, Fla. He has since been hit with an additional charge of reckless driving.

“And then (Rafael Devers), I imagine golf. Like, Tiger — oh, I guess it’s bad timing,” Vitello said. “Alright, let’s just say this. Raffy’s pretty good at — like other athletes in the past when things were going good — Raffy’s pretty good at getting fired up at himself and then calming things down pretty quick.”

While it is certainly a strong quality that both Devers and Woods share, maybe now isn’t the time to praise the controversial PGA superstar. After losing the first three games of the Tony Vitello era, the San Francisco Giants have won three of their past four games.

Tiger Woods approved to leave Florida, reportedly seeking treatment abroad

Tiger Woods was reportedly given permission to travel abroad by a Florida judge in order to seek treatment following his arrest on suspicion of DUI, according to TMZ Sports’ Michael Babcock. The news came after Woods publicly announced plans to step away from golf ahead of next week’s Masters Tournament in Augusta in order to better focus on his health.

Woods’ attorney Douglas Duncan cited privacy concerns in his appeal to the judge Tuesday and reportedly argued his famous client “couldn’t receive the care needed in the U.S. because his ‘privacy has been repeatedly compromised,’” according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today,” Woods wrote in a statement posted to X/Twitter on Tuesday. “I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.

“I’m committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.”
