Tom Brady is back on a football field for the first time in a long time. The legendary NFL quarterback is participating in his own event on Saturday afternoon, playing for Team Founders in the Flag Football Classic. A group of players currently in the league, dubbed Founders, is facing Team USA, and FOX is broadcasting the event. Brady usually finds himself in the booth these days but is back in action.

And if you thought anything except a great moment would be produced by Brady, you would be wrong. Brady took the snap, only to face immediate pressure. The 48-year-old then showed off the athleticism to juke the oncoming defender. Step one of a fantastic play done.

From there, Brady fired a strike to the back of the end zone. Waiting on the other end was Stefon Diggs, most recently of the New England Patriots. Diggs got his feet down, securing a touchdown for Founders. You can check out the full moment here.

Turns out, this would be one of the lone highlights of the game for Brady. Team USA turned into a big winner, 43-16. Brady was asked for his reaction to the game in a postgame interview with influencer Druski. A hilarious quote then came from the NFL legend, giving us what we might hear from him back in the day. But in this game, the sarcastic meter was pretty high.

“My heart is hurting right now,” Brady said. My heart is really hurting. We’re like a leaky faucet. We don’t have enough short throws.”

More on Flag Football Classic, led by Tom Brady

The Flag Football Classic is the first of its kind. Team USA has been competing for quite some time now, putting together great results. But NFL players are beginning to dip their toes in the water.

For those who are not familiar with the event, USA Football provided an explanation on its website. There are different rules than a normal football game, even playing on a smaller field.

“The Fanatics Flag Football Classic brings together some of the biggest names in football and the world’s top flag athletes for a first-of-its-kind competition at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles on March 21, 2026. Produced by Fanatics Studios, the joint venture between Fanatics and OBB Media, this event will deliver a best-on-best showdown in one of the fastest-growing sports in the world

“Competition will follow modified Olympic-style flag football rules, featuring two 15-minute halves with a running clock on a 50 x 25-yard field. Three teams will compete in a round-robin format, with the top two advancing to the championship.”
