Stefon Diggs found not guilty in assault case against personal chef
NFL wide receiver Stefon Diggs has won his assault case against his former live-in personal chef. On Tuesday, Diggs was found not guilty of felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault and battery.
Diggs was facing up to five years in prison. His former chef, Jamila Adams, testified that Diggs attacked her during a dispute over money in December 2025.
When Adams testified in a Dedham District Court in Massachusetts, things did not go well for her. Per TMZ Sports, Adams was admonished by the judge for failing to answer questions asked by Diggs’ defense team. She was asked about an alleged $5.5 million demand her team made three weeks before the trial began. Adams claimed that she wasn’t aware of the request.
Diggs’ former chef, who claimed to have a sexual relationship with him after meeting on social media four years ago, was also asked why she hadn’t documented her injuries from the alleged attack. In the closing arguments, Diggs’ team said there wasn’t a single “shred” of evidence against him.
Patriots released Stefon Diggs in March
Diggs will now focus on finding a team for the 2026 NFL season. Before the start of the 2025 season, the former Maryland star signed a three-year, $69 million contract with the Patriots. He finished the year with 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns while helping the team reach the Super Bowl.

In March, the Patriots released Diggs amid the case against his former chef. In late February, Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel shared his thoughts on Diggs and his future with the team.
“Not only his future, but what he was able to come in and do for us, and provide leadership and work really hard in the time he was rehabbing from his knee,” he said, per NESN. “I think just a really good presence each and every week.”
Diggs has been in the NFL since the 2015 season, spending time with the Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills, Houston Texans, and Patriots. In his career, the 32-year-old has been selected to the Pro Bowl four times and selected to the All-Pro Team twice.
