Report: Philadelphia Eagles signing DE Arnold Ebiketie

The Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly signing defensive end Arnold Ebiketie, per Jordan Schultz. His deal is for one year worth $7.3 million with $4.3 million fully guaranteed.

Ebiketie played the first four seasons of his career with the Atlanta Falcons. He was a standout at Penn State before the Falcons selected him in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

His signing comes as the Eagles lost EDGE Jaelan Phillips to the Carolina Panthers during free agency. Two years removed from a Super Bowl, Ebiketie will hope to be a part of another deep run for the Eagles in 2026.

On the field, Ebiketie has never missed a game in his NFL career. In 67 games, he’s logged 129 tackles (80 solo) with 16.5 sacks and four forced fumbles. From 2023-2024, Ebiketie logged 12.0 sacks.

That number dwindled to 2.0 this past season, but that can be attributed to a deeper lineup in Atlanta rather than a dip in his abilities. After all, the Falcons defense recorded a franchise-record 57 sacks as a unit last season.

Before being drafted No. 38 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, Ebiketie redshirted his first season with Temple before becoming a major contributor in 2019. He posted 42 tackles with four sacks and three forced fumbles in 2020, which put him on the path to transferring to a top-25 program. He chose Penn State and in his one Big Ten season, racked up 9.5 sacks and 62 tackles with 18 tackles for loss over 12 games.

Coming out of high school in Kensington, Maryland, Ebiketie was a three-star prospect. Temple was one of just eight D-I programs to offer the defensive end. Notably, Philadelphia and were he went to high school is just over a two-hour drive away.

The Eagles finished the 2025 season with an 11-6 record. They’ve made the postseason in each of the last five seasons and will look to continue that success this fall.
