Philadelphia Eagles hire Green Bay Packers QBs coach Sean Mannion as offensive coordinator
The Philadelphia Eagles are hiring Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Sean Mannion as offensive coordinator, the franchise announced Thursday. It ends a lengthy search for a replacement for Kevin Patullo, who will not be in the role next season.
Mannion joined the Packers’ coaching staff in 2024 as an offensive assistant and moved up to quarterbacks coach this past year. His arrival in Green bay came after a professional career which began when the St. Louis Rams drafted him in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft out of Oregon State.
After four years with the Rams in St. Louis and Los Angeles, Mannion signed with the Minnesota Vikings in 2019. He then bounced between the Vikings’ roster and practice squad, as well as the Seattle Seahawks practice squad, from 2021-23.
“It was quickly apparent in meeting with Sean that he is a bright young coach with a tremendous future ahead of him in this league,” Eagles coach Nick Sirianni said in a statement, in part. “I was impressed by his systematic views on offensive football and his strategic approach. Sean’s 11 years in the NFL have provided him a great opportunity to learn from and grow alongside some of the best coaches in the game.
“As a result, he has a wealth of knowledge and experience that will be invaluable to our team moving forward. I can’t wait to see Sean with our team, and I want to welcome him and his wife, Megan, to the Eagles family.”

Philadelphia interviewed a slew of candidates after announcing Patullo would not stay in his role as offensive coordinator in 2026. Ultimately, the franchise landed on Mannion, who spent this past year working closely with Jordan Love and Malik Willis in Green Bay.
Sean Mannion played in 14 games across his NFL career. He made three starts, including what turned out to be his final game when he threw for 189 yards and a touchdown in a 2021 loss to the Packers.
Following last year’s Super Bowl LIX victory, the Eagles lost Kellen Moore to the New Orleans Saints and moved Patullo to offensive coordinator. It was an up-and-down season in 2025, though, as Philadelphia ranked 19th in the league with 379 points allowed, and the Eagles’ 5,291 total yards ranked 24th among the 32 teams.
After falling to the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card Round, head coach Sirianni announced a change. Patullo would not return as offensive coordinator, although Sirianni did not say Patullo was leaving the organization.
