Pat Bryant injury update: Broncos WR immediately hospitalized after being carted off
Denver Broncos wide receiver Pat Bryant was hospitalized after suffering an injury in Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to multiple reports. Bryant took a big hit after attempting to catch a pass from quarterback Bo Nix late in the fourth quarter.
Jaguars cornerback Montaric Brown was the one who hit Pat Bryant. It was ruled a clean hit, and Bryant was carted off the field.
After the game, Broncos head coach Sean Payton gave an update on Bryant. Per Jon Heath of Broncos Wire, Payton said that Bryant has movement in his hands and legs, and he will know more information later.
Heath also mentioned that Nix slammed his helmet on the ground after the play. Before Bryant was carted off, players from both teams gathered around the rookie wide receiver.

The Broncos selected Bryant in the third round of this year’s draft. While speaking to reporters after the selection, Payton revealed that Bryant reminded him of a former NFL wide receiver Payton used to coach when he was with the New Orleans Saints.
“We always talk about, ‘Who does he remind [you of]?'” Payton said in April, per Aric DiLalla of the Broncos’ official website. “We try to find comps. There were so many things about his game that reminded me of Mike Thomas.”
Payton then shared more on why he likes Bryant. “[He’s] really explosive off the line of scrimmage, he’s very competitive, very tough,” Payton said at the time. “We mentioned this yesterday: Periodically, you have more insight on a certain player. [Defensive Pass Game Coordinator/Assistant Head Coach] Jim Leonhard worked at Illinois the year before we hired him. So, Jim had insight to the makeup [and] toughness. I really think [highly of] the body of work and all the additional film study, but his size and his hands are outstanding.”
