Carson Hocevar will be hanging out with Hollywood A-listers on Monday night as he has been invited to the 2026 Met Gala. NASCAR went to X/Twitter to reveal that Hocevar has traded in his firesuit for a tuxedo for the event held in New York.

While attending the Met Gala red carpet, Hocevar spoke to E! Entertainment about doing any pre-race rituals to settle his nerves. “Normally, it works because I’m confident racing and putting a race suit on,” Carson Hocevar said. “When I put this suit on, it’s hard for me to get that confident. This is so new to me, but I’m enjoying every experience.”

Carson Hocevar has been on a roll lately. He won his first career race in the NASCAR Cup Series last week and followed that up with a P7 finish at Texas on Sunday.

But what caught the attention of many was what Hocevar did after winning at Talladega. During his victory lap, the Spire Motorsports driver sat on the edge of the driver’s door of his No. 77 Chevrolet and began driving around the track.

“I just wanted them to get as loud as possible. I felt like they would if they could see me seeing them,” Hocevar said at the time, per Zack Albert of NASCAR.com. “Yeah, I mean, ultimately, I just wanted to make sure I soaked every bit of it in. I think I could tell you what everybody was wearing, where every seat was, where every 77 shirt was. I think I could have pointed it all out to you because I remember it so clearly right now. That means more than anything else to me, just that I know this has been a blur. I could tell you exactly just off Turn 4, it was like, I have it, to right now, I could tell you every second.”

The Met Gala is a yearly fundraising festival held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Costume Institute in Manhattan. The event features some of the top sports and Hollywood stars, and this year is no different as the co-charis are Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour of Vogue.
