Micah Parsons trade request: Dez Bryant threatens to reveal secrets about Jerry Jones after name drop

Throughout the Micah Parsons contract negotiation, Jerry Jones has not been afraid to name-drop current and former Dallas Cowboys players. Pulling from experience, Jones recently revealed the reason he does not want to deal with Parsons’ agent is because of Dez Bryant.

Well, when Bryant found the quote, he took to social media. And to say he was not happy would be a little bit of an understatement. Bryant threatened to have “story time” because of what Jones said.

“JERRY JONES I DONT THINK ITS SMART TO MENTION MY NAME,” Bryant said via X. “I KEPT QUIET ABOUT A LOT OF UNFAIR SHIT.. ON SOME G SHIT… WE CAN HAVE STORY TIME IF THAT’S WHAT WE ARE DOING.”

Bryant went through his own negotiations with Jones back in the day. Ahead of the 2015 season, a five-year deal was signed by the wide receiver. This came after Bryant established himself as one of the best players in the NFL, inking a deal for $70 million.

ROC NATION was the agency representing Bryant at the time. Specifically, Jay-Z was in the middle of conversations involving Bryant and Jones. Jay-Z’s actions are eventually what soured how Jones felt about agents moving forward.

“Because when we have a problem with the player, the agent is nowhere to be found,” Jones said via Nick Harris of The Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “Jay-Z said that Dez would make all meetings. Jay-Z and I negotiated the contract, spent hours. He said, ‘Anybody in my organization is on time.’ He said, ‘My office used to be on the street corner, and I’ve always been early. So, they will be on time.’ And what did I say? I said, ‘I’m going to call you [when I have a problem].’ He quit taking my call.”

Bryant wound up spending eight seasons in Dallas, being a great member of the 88 Club. He caught 531 passes for 7,459 yards, and 73 touchdowns. None more dominant than his 2014 season, a year where a first-team All-Pro designation was added to the resume.

To this day, Bryant openly cheers for the Cowboys on social media. He has been there through all of the ups and downs since leaving the franchise in 2018.

However, Jones appears to have crossed the line in Bryant’s book. Maybe some stories will be coming our way if the newly born online battle continues through the Parsons’ contract situation.
