Disaster struck Sunday afternoon for the Green Bay Packers, as superstar defensive end Micah Parsons tore his left ACL in a 34-26 loss to the Denver Broncos. Parsons, lauded as one of the best players in the NFL, will now miss the remainder of the season for a Playoff-minded Packers team.

In his first season with the organization, Parsons terrorized opposing NFC offenses. The four-time All-Pro selection recorded 41 tackles, 12.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles in 14 games.

Following the injury, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expressed his best wishes for Parsons’ recovery. Dallas traded Parsons to Green Bay just before the 2025 NFL season kicked off after contract negotiations had come to impasse between both sides.

“I’m sad for Micah,” Jones said during a hit on 103.5 The Fan. “That’s quite a challenge. I wish him the very best on his recovery. Michael Irvin said when he had his big surgery during, I think, his second year with the Cowboys, he said he realized what football really did mean to him.

“And he said the surgery really launched him into the best part of his career, because he got to feel what it might look like not to play again. There’s a lot of ways you can couch this thing. But, Micah, I wish you the very best.”

With five NFL seasons now in the book, Parsons is well on his way to a Pro Football Hall of Fame career. Through 77 career games, the Penn State alum boasts 297 tackles, 65 sacks, 11 forced fumbles, and four fumble recoveries.

Micah Parsons vows to ‘rise again’ following injury

“I may be sidelined, but I am not defeated,” Parsons wrote in a statement on X/Twitter. “This injury is my greatest test—a moment God allowed to strengthen my testimony. I believe He walks with me through this storm and chose me for this fight because He knew my heart could carry it.

“I’m deeply grateful to the Packers organization and my teammates for their unwavering support, love, and belief in me during this season. I trust His timing, His plan, and His purpose. I will rise again.”

The injury occurred in the fourth quarter as Parsons was rushing Broncos quarterback Bo Nix. Parsons’ injury was non-contact, and he immediately hit the ground and motioned to the training staff that something was wrong. Parsons was holding his left knee as trainers tended to him, mouthing the words ‘I’m done’. Players from both teams gathered around Parsons as trainers worked on him, checking out the injury.

With three games remaining in the season, Green Bay sits at 9-4-1 and sits as the No. 7 seed in the NFC Playoffs. Losing Parsons however will make a Super Bowl push extremely difficult for the organization.
