Lane Johnson injury update: Eagles announce star OL's status after leaving for locker room
Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson suffered an ankle injury in the second quarter of Monday’s Week 10 road game against the Green Bay Packers. Johnson is questionable to return, the Eagles announced.
The injury occurred on Philadelphia’s fourth drive of the game. Packers safety Evan Williams, attempting to make a tackle on Eagles tailback Saquon Barkley, dove into Johnson’s leg. His knee bent awkwardly, and he was in obvious discomfort. Fred Johnson has replaced Johnson at right tackle.
Johnson was carted back to the locker room. ESPN sideline reporter Lisa Salters provided an update on Johnson.
“They say that Lane Johnson is questionable to return, but when he came by me, he looked at me in a considerable amount of pain as he left the field,” Salters said. “Again, he needed help.”

The Eagles without Lane Johnson… far from ideal
Johnson, 35, might be the most important piece on Philadelphia’s star-studded offense. The Eagles are 15-23 without Johnson, the six-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro.
Johnson has been one of the NFL‘s best offensive linemen since entering the league in 2013 and this season has been no different. He has yet to allow a sack in 2025, per Pro Football Focus. Johnson is a difference maker and without him, the Eagles’ offense doesn’t run nearly as smoothly.
His status will be one to follow moving forward but especially Monday, as both teams were held off the scoreboard in the first half. It was the first scoreless half of the season around the league.
