Lamar Jackson injury update: Ravens QB appears on practice report with new issue
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is dealing with a new injury ahead of the team’s Thanksgiving night game against the Cincinnati Bengals. In the Ravens’ Monday Week 13 practice report, Jackson was listed as a non-participant in practice due to a toe injury.
This is the third consecutive time Lamar Jackson has not participated in the Ravens’ first practice of the week. The two-time NFL MVP has dealt with knee soreness and an ankle injury in the last two weeks, which led to him missing two Wednesday practices. Jackson also missed three games earlier in the year due to a hamstring injury.
There has been speculation that Jackson’s injuries are the reason the Ravens’ offense has struggled the last few weeks. After Baltimore defeated the New York Jets on Sunday, Jackson was asked if his injuries played a role in the lack of offensive production.
“No. No, I don’t think that at all,” he said, per Ryan Mink of BaltimoreRavens.com. “I feel like we just need to execute a lot better. We get in great field position, but we’re not putting points on the board. That has nothing to do with an injury. “I’m out there, so I feel like I should still be able to do what I do. [My ankle] was pretty solid for the most part.”

Lamar Jackson wants Ravens’ offense to match team’s defense
Jackson also talked about how it was a “little bit” frustrating not to have the offense rolling after what the team did last year, averaging 424.9 yards and over 30 points per game. “It’s our job. I’m an offensive guy. I’m not playing defense,” Jackson said. “It’s great to see our defense playing well, but it’ll also feel great and look great when we are playing as well to match their energy. We just need to do that week in and week out because those guys are stepping up. We need to do the same thing.”
Despite the offensive issues, the Ravens have won their last five games and are now 6-5 on the year. They are tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the AFC North lead, but the Ravens have the tiebreaker right now because they have a better division record.
