Kyle Hamilton trolls Shedeur Sanders after sacking Browns QB in NFL debut
Shedeur Sanders did not plan on making his NFL debut Sunday. But after Dillon Gabriel left the Week 11 home game against the Baltimore Ravens with a concussion, Sanders was up.
On his very first drive under center, third play to be exact, Sanders got his “welcome to the NFL moment” courtesy of Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton. Sanders was sacked by Hamilton, who trolled Sanders by doing his famous celebration.
That was the beginning of Sanders’ debut, which got underway at the start of the second half. Sanders received a raucous ovation from the crowd at Huntington Bank Field upon entering the game. He completed his first career pass to wide receiver Cedric Tillman for a five-yard gain.
But following that completion, not much went right for Sanders and the Browns. They had a 16-10 lead after two quarters of play but were shutout in the second half. The Ravens won 23-16, getting back to .500, while the Browns fell to 2-8.

Sanders will surely see better days in his career. Coming in off the bench, he completed just 4-of-16 passes for 47 yards and an interception. Sanders was sacked twice and finished with a 13.5 passer rating. Gabriel completed 7-of-10 passes for 68 yards before leaving the game.

Whether or not Sanders gets another chance to play next week will likely depend on Gabriel’s health. Gabriel will have to clear concussion protocol to be available to play next Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Sanders, the 2025 fifth-round selection out of Colorado, began the season as the third quarterback on Cleveland’s quarterback depth chart. After Joe Flacco was traded to the Cincinnati Bengals, Sanders became the backup to Gabriel, who has started the last six games.
Sanders, the reigning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, was widely expected to come off the board in Round 1 of this year’s NFL Draft. He finished his first preseason in Cleveland completing 17-of-29 passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. He was sacked seven times.
