Justin Fields injury update: Jets QB exits in 4th quarter vs. Bills
Justin Fields exited the New York Jets’ game against the Buffalo Bills with an injury and Tyrod Taylor came in. The situation occurred in the fourth quarter Sunday.
Fields later left the medical tent and was escorted to the locker room, per team reporter Caroline Hendershot. The Bills led 30-3 at that time of the game.
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported Fields was headed to the locker room “with the unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant.” It appears to be concussion related.
Upon his exit, Fields was three-of-11 passing for 27 yards. He also had five carries for 49 yards, but no scores. Fields led the Jets in rushing at that point of the day.

It was a stark contrast for Fields and the Jets’ offense after an opening day 34-32 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was 16-of-22 for 218 yards, one touchdown, 48 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns just last week.

Coming into the game, Jets head coach Aaron Glenn noted the challenge of playing the Bills. Buffalo is on the shortlist of Super Bowl LX favorites this season. With the way Fields and the offense played Sunday against Buffalo, that was certainly a wise premonition.
“After Monday, I flushed that game,” Glenn said of the 34-32 fall-from-ahead opening-day home loss to Pittsburgh, via the team’s website. “I’m excited about the things we’re continuing to build on and how we’re moving forward. I try my best not to look back and focus on what just happened. I focus on what we’re trying to do right now, continue playing our brand of football, because I think that speaks louder than anything …
“They’re a really tough opponent. (Josh Allen) is a hell of a player” — RB James Cook — “we have to make sure we understand exactly what he brings” — and DT Ed Oliver — “he’s a disruptor, he’s a penetrator, they move him around quite a bit, he’s very athletic. He’s a problem.”
