Houston Texans sign WR Nico Collins to three-year contract extension
The Houston Texans have signed receiver Nico Collins to a three-year contract extension, Diana Russini of The Athletic reported. He is expected to make roughly $24 million per year as part of the new deal.
Collins is coming off of a career season in which he finished with 80 catches for 1,297 yards and eight touchdowns to lead the team. The Michigan alum just wrapped up his third pro season after being selected in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Collins is only the fourth Texans receiver in franchise history to record 1,000 yards in a single season, joining Brandin Cooks, DeAndre Hopkins and Andre Johnson. He was set to enter the final year of his rookie contract this season, and the extension locks him up with the team through 2027.
Collins caught a combined 70 passes for 927 yards and three touchdowns in his first two seasons in Houston, so this past year represented a big leap forward. It also coincided with the team’s first playoff appearance since 2019.
