Cris Collinsworth reacts to Lamar Jackson, Bills fans hitting each other

During the third quarter of Ravens vs. Bills on Sunday Night Football, QB Lamar Jackson got into it with a fan in Buffalo who touched him on the field from up in the stands. Cris Collinsworth, though, at least understands why Baltimore’s quarterback took exception to it.

Mike Tirico and Collinsworth reacted to the incident after the fact on the call tonight for NBC. Neither justified Jackson’s actions in response to the fan, but they each understood that it was after a fan may have been doing too much at Highmark Stadium.

“Obviously, both in the wrong there, but you can’t be pushing the players when you’re a fan there as well,” said Tirico.

“I think Lamar saw the first one, and then took one himself,” Collinsworth said. “I’m not excusing. I know there’s no way you’re allowed to go after fans in the stands, almost no matter what happens. But, sometimes that gets a little ridiculous too.”

This came right after an incredible touchdown catch by DeAndre Hopkins from Jackson. Then, in celebrating in the back of the end zone, this incident took place with the fan reaching down to touch Hopkins before also touching Jackson.

Jackson shoves Bills fan in retaliation for hit from stands

Following an incredible touchdown throw and catch on Sunday Night Football, Lamar Jackson was involved in an incident with a fan on the sidelines. He shoved the fan in the stands after the fan pushed his helmet.

Jackson was celebrating a touchdown pass to DeAndre Hopkins when he went toward the endzone. A fan reached out and shoved the helmet of Hopkins, then did the same to Jackson. Lamar Jackson then lashed out, reaching up into the stands and shoving the fan with two hands.

At the time of the incident, Lamar Jackson had gone 12-of-15 passing for 194 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. He had also added four carries for 38 yards and a touchdown
