Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs reveals TV falling on him caused concussion: 'Was trying to be a handyman'
The future of talented cornerback Trevon Diggs with the Dallas Cowboys has been in question thanks, in part, to his lack of availability with the franchise in recent weeks. That included appearing on the injury report with a concussion, despite not playing.
Diggs clarified that he suffered the concussion while trying to mount a television to the ceiling with a pole mount. The mount apparatus fell on his head, causing the concussion.
He shared video of the setup with Jane Slater in an attempt to quiet some of the speculation about how it could have happened. According to Slater, Trevon Diggs said he “didn’t think it was going to be a big deal and didn’t need to be addressed, but speculation on the Internet went way too far.”
“I was trying to be a handyman,” Diggs said. Unfortunately, he injured himself in the process.
Trevon Diggs returned from injured reserve on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers. It was after the game that he revealed the circumstances behind his unfortunate incident.
Diggs has played in just six games this season. He has logged 18 tackles but has not recorded any interceptions or pass breakups.

Jerry Jones speaks to Trevon Diggs’ future
Asked on 105.3 The FAN if this might be the last chance for Diggs to ever suit up with Dallas, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones denied that on Friday morning. As his future with the franchise, Jones thinks it’s too early to doubt whether or not he could be back with the Cowboys.
“Again, sure,” Jones said. “I don’t think I’ve seen, though it’s been connected, what he’s working through on this year’s availability. But, I think that’s a stretch to put that thing that far out. I know that, on my basis on looking at his situation, I don’t have that kind of attitude about him.”
This has been another injury-ridden season, in his sixth year in the NFL, for Trevon Diggs. He has separately dealt with a concussion, as well as continued issues with his knees.
If this were to be the final season, Diggs would have to be moved somehow, as he still has three years remaining on his extension from the Cowboys. That could be by way of a buyout, or a trade this offseason, pending his status with Dallas or the market out there for the corner who is a former Pro Bowler and All-Pro.
