Brian Thomas Jr. trade rumors: Jaguars reportedly listening on star WR
The Jacksonville Jaguars are reportedly listening to trade calls for WR Brian Thomas Jr., according to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini. They’re doing so even if a move feels unlikely, while also shopping for defense.
Thomas is in his second season with Jacksonville out of LSU. This year, he has 27 catches for 365 yards, one touchdown and 13.5 yards per catch.
As a rookie, Thomas put up big numbers in 2024. He had 87 catches for 1,282 yards, 10 touchdowns and 14.7 yards per catch.
During the 2023 season, his final year with LSU, Thomas broke out with 68 catches, 1,117 yards, 17 touchdowns and 17.3 yards per catch. He had 24 touchdowns in college over the course of three years.
As a member of the Class of 2021, Thomas Jr. was a four-star recruit out of Walker (La.) High,
according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 4 overall prospect in the state, the No. 15 wide receiver in the class and the No. 92 overall prospect in the class.

Brian Thomas Jr. on the trading block?
Overall, this is an interesting situation for the Jaguars, who are 4-3 and in second place in the AFC South. Jacksonville struggled last week in a loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
Thomas is the second-leading receiver on the team at this time, only trailing rookie Travis Hunter in catches (28). But due to his production not being on pace compared to his rookie season, Thomas could be expendable.
As Russini reported, a trade seems unlikely and perhaps the Jaguars boost other areas of the team as they look to return to the postseason. Jacksonville is back in action Sunday, November 2nd at the Las Vegas Raiders at 4:25 p.m. ET.
