Wake Forest guard Juke Harris plans to enter transfer portal, testing NBA Draft process

Wake Forest guard Juke Harris plans to enter the transfer portal and will go through the NBA Draft process, he told On3.

The 6-foot-7 sophomore averaged 21.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game this season for the Demon Deacons.

Harris, a native of Salisbury, North Carolina, was named ACC Most Improved Player this season after increasing his scoring by over 15 points per game, following an average of just 6.1 points per game as a freshman.

The All-ACC Second-Team recipient provided the following statement to On3:

First, I’d like to thank my coaches, Wake Forest University, and the amazing fanbase. This wasn’t a decision made lightly. After many conversations, considerations, and talks with God, I’ll be going through the NBA draft process and entering the transfer portal to keep my options open.

Harris scored a total of 750 points this season at Wake, the second-most in a single season in program history. He had 17 games with 20 or more points, including a career-high 38 against Boston College.

Coming out of high school, Harris was ranked as a four-star prospect and the No. 95 overall player in the 2024 class, per the Rivals Industry Ranking.

Rivals National Recruiting Analyst Jamie Shaw provided the following scouting report on Harris while he was in high school:

Juke Harris is a legitimate big guard. He is at least 6-foot-5, with long arms and broad shoulders, giving him a projectable frame moving forward. Harris is comfortable on the ball, handling and creating in the half-court. He is also a smooth shooter, with confidence from beyond the arc. We would like to see him elevate his release point on his jumper, especially off the catch, but the form and release are good with this minor tweak. Harris is a good athlete, but he is not super bursty. His IQ and feel allow him to get to his spots off the bounce. He is a good team defender and understands angles and footwork on that end of the floor. With his frame and natural skill set, there is a pretty high ceiling for what he could continue to grow into.
