According to The Field of 68, Virginia Tech guard Izaiah Pasha plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal. Pasha spent just one season in Blacksburg, coming off the bench. This is not a new process for him after beginning his college basketball career at Delaware. Wherever Pasha lands, it will be school No. 3 in as many years.

Pasha only played in 18 games this past season, averaging just over eight minutes every time out there. None of those were starts, as Pasha wound up with a season-long statline of 2.0 points, 0.8 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per game. Just once did he reach the double-digit mark in the scoring department, going for 11 points on 3-9 shooting with five made free throws in a nonconference tilt against Elon. From that point on, playing time was quite limited for the guard.

Numbers were a lot better for Pasha at his previous destination, Delaware. He was the CAA Freshman of the Year, also named to the conference’s All-Tournament team. The Blue Hens fell just short of an automatic birth into the NCAA Tournament despite a poor regular season, going 5-13 during conference play. Pasha was a huge reason why the run was made in Washington, D.C., averaging 13.4 points over five games.

Looking at his entire campaign, Pasha started in all but one of his 34 appearances. His averages were significantly higher too, producing 11.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game.

Plenty of other schools were interested around this time last season when Pasha entered the portal. Of course, Virginia Tech ended up as the winner. However, Gonzaga and Texas Tech were considered two of the other finalists. If Mark Few and Grant McCasland want to make another run at Pasha, the opportunity window should open quite soon. Finding a way to get the Delaware production would be the goal, though, compared to what we saw from Pasha at Virginia Tech.

Pasha played high school basketball at Springfield (PA) St. Thomas More (Prep). He did not have a star rating, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
