USC guard Rodney Rice out for the rest of the season with shoulder injury
USC star guard Rodney Rice will miss the rest of the 2025–26 season with a shoulder injury, a source told On3.
The 6-foot-5 junior and transfer from Maryland appeared in six games this season and averaged 20.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game for the Trojans before going down. He shot 41.1 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from three.

There is some positive news for USC. Five-star freshman Alijah Arenas is expected to begin practicing this week after tearing his meniscus in July. Head coach Eric Musselman said Arenas is targeting a mid-January return.
With the Trojans dealing with multiple injuries, Musselman indicated the staff is open to adding another player for the second semester.
“We need another body. We really, really do. We’re desperate.”
USC is off to a 10–1 start this season, with conference play set to begin January 2.
