Texas Tech transfer Devan Cambridge sets visits to Pitt, Ohio State

Texas Tech transfer Devan Cambridge was granted a 7th year of eligibility from the NCAA last week. The 6-foot-6 senior has struggled with injuries the past two seasons, only playing in a combined 14 games with the Red Raiders.

With a medical hardship waiver now in hand, Cambridge is looking for a new school for his final year of college basketball. Pittsburgh will host him for a visit on Wednesday, May 14th. He then plans to take a trip to Ohio State on Monday, May 19th. Cambridge is also considering a visit to Mississippi State, but nothing has been scheduled yet.

In addition to those three programs, Cambridge says he’s also heard from North Carolina, Arizona, Arizona State, Seton Hall, and Pepperdine.

The Nashville native began his college career at Auburn in 2019. His best season came as sophomore with the Tigers in which he averaged 8.9 points per game. After three years on The Plains, Cambridge decided to enter the transfer portal and landed at Arizona State. He averaged 9.8 points per game with the Sun Devils during the 2022-23 season before ending the transfer portal again and enrolling at Texas Tech.

Cambridge is a former three-star recruit in the 2019 class and graduated high school from Hillcrest Prep in Phoenix, Arizona.
