Sean Miller calls Keyshawn Hall 'one of college basketball's premier players'
At this point, multiple college coaches around the country are saying it. Auburn senior forward Keyshawn Hall is really, really good at basketball.
Hall dropped a season-high 31 points in a win against Texas on Wednesday night, powering Auburn to its fourth straight conference win. His second half against the Longhorns was the stuff that wins you weekly recognition.
“He’s a heck of a player,” Texas coach Sean Miller said after the game. “I’m going to tell you this: He’s one of college basketball’s premier players. He did it against Florida on Saturday night, and I thought, again, his second half really spoke volumes.”
Against Florida over the weekend, Keyshawn Hall dropped 24 points, also chipping in seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and a blocked shot. He helped Auburn dump the defending national champions on their home floor.
Wednesday against Texas, it was more of the same. But perhaps even more impressively so.
“So at the half he had what, three, three points at the half?” Miller said. “So think about that. He had three. He had 28 in the second half. Look, again, law of averages, I don’t know if he’s going to end the game with six. He’s too good of a player.”
Hall certainly didn’t stop at six points. He made it to the free-throw line 17 times, knocking down 14 of them.

To score 31 points in 36 minutes on just 13 shots? That’s efficiency.
“I thought we did a better job against him in the first half,” Miller said. “He might not have played as well as he usually does, but again, we didn’t have an answer for him in the second half. Seventeen free throws. 7-for-13 (from the floor).”
Hall will certainly be in the conversation for SEC Player of the Week this week. It’s going to take some monster performances to top his outing from Wednesday night against Texas.
Miller didn’t even sound all that upset with how his team defended the Auburn star. Hall was just that good.
“Dailyn Swain was terrific on our end,” Miller said. “I think he negated some of Keyshawn because Dailyn also had a big night. But, yeah, Keyshawn Hall is a terrific player.”
