Ahead of the 2025 season, Rashada committed to Sacramento State, which made a splash by hiring Marion as head coach amid its pursuit of FBS status. Marion is now the offensive coordinator at Colorado under Deion Sanders.
Now, Rashada will head to Mississippi State to join a quarterback room led by Kamario Taylor, who showed flashes of his potential in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl against Wake Forest. Taylor suffered an injury during that game and later underwent a procedure on his sprained ankle, but the expectation is he will be back in time for spring practice.
Taylor appeared in 11 games as a true freshman and made two starts, including the Duke’s Mayo Bowl. On the whole, he threw for 629 yards and five touchdowns while doing plenty of damage with his legs, totaling 458 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on the ground.
Mississippi State went 5-8 in Lebby’s second season as head coach, falling to Wake Forest in the bowl game. The Bulldogs have now added 25 players from the transfer portal so far this cycle as part of a group that ranks No. 13, according to the On3 Industry Team Transfer Portal Rankings.
