Overtime Elite's Tyler Smith signs with G-League Ignite
Overtime Elite power forward Tyler Smith has signed a one-year deal with the NBA’s G-League Ignite, he told On3.
The 6-foot-10, 205-pound 18-year-old has spent the last two years — his junior and senior seasons — developing, training, and playing at Overtime Elite (OTE) in Atlanta. Smith signed a professional contract with OTE in 2021, estimated to be worth seven figures.
Smith averaged 15.7 points, eight rebounds, 1.9 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game this season, playing for the Cold Hearts at OTE. He shot 63-percent from the field and 29-percent from three.

The Houston native becomes the seventh player to sign with Ignite this cycle, joining Ron Holland, Matas Buzelis, London Johnson, Dink Pate, Thierry Darlan, and Babacar Sane.
At the time of joining OTE, Tyler Smith was ranked as a five-star recruit by several of the major recruiting media companies, even as high as 8th nationally in the national class of 2023. He received scholarship offers from double-digit programs, including Kansas, Houston, Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Texas, Memphis, and others prior to signing a contract with OTE.
