Gary Bryant Jr. injury update: Oregon receiver helped off field by trainers
With Oregon already shorthanded at receiver, another unfortunate injury at the position occurred in the first quarter of Saturday’s game against No. 20 Iowa.
After making his first catch of the game, senior wide receiver Gary Bryant Jr. was helped off the field by trainers. He appeared to be unable to put weight on his right foot.
This season, Bryant Jr. has hauled in 25 receptions for 299 yards and four touchdowns. With wide receiver Dakorien Moore (28 REC, 443 YDS, 3 TD) and tight end Kenyon Sadiq (22 REC, 311 YDS, 5 TD) also ruled out for the game, Oregon quarterback Dante Moore is down his three-leading receivers Saturday afternoon in Iowa City.
Not having Bryant Jr. on the field is a massive blow for the Ducks as they look to earn their second ranked victory (previously just No. 3 Penn State) of the season. The senior receiver is currently in the midst of his sixth season of college football. After spending the first three seasons of his career at USC (2020-2022), Bryant Jr. has been with Oregon for the past three seasons.

His stint in Eugene started strong in 2023, as he hauled in 30 receptions for 442 yards and four touchdowns. 2024 was a nightmare however, as he dealt with the injury bug all season long and played in just two games. His final year of college football has been strong, but this injury could very well hinder it in a massive way.
“I’m really a lead-by-example guy. When I come out and work every day, I think the guys see that. Everything I say—they listen and take it to heart,” Bryant Jr. told ScoopDuck during the spring. Getting him back would be massive for Moore, who is missing some of his top weapons right now.
