4-star OT Cameron Williams commits to the Texas Longhorns

On3 Consensus 4-star offensive tackle Cameron Williams (Duncanville, Texas) is staying in state for college. 

The one-time Oregon verbal committed to the Texas Longhorns on Sunday over Texas A&M and Miami.

Williams decommitted from Oregon December 8 following the departure of Mario Cristobal. Cristobal made an in-home visit as the head coach of the Hurricanes late last week.

The 6-foot-5, 375-pounder with quick feet and agility hosted the Texas staff for in-home visits each of the last two weeks. 

He made a trip to Austin Sunday to meet with the Texas staff prior to his commitment. 

Williams made June official visits to Miami, Texas, Oklahoma and Oregon before announcing for the Ducks July 1.

His commitment comes a day after On3 Consensus five-star offensive Kelvin Banks (Humble, Texas/Summer Creek) picked the Longhorns. Both were one-time Oregon verbals. 

Texas sports the No. 6 ranked class in the On3 Consensus team rankings following Williams’ pledge. The Longhorns have the opportunity to close with a top 3 class. Some of the top targets remaining include On3 Consensus 5-stars Devon Campbell, Denver Harris, Jacoby Mathews and Harold Perkins.

They are also in pursuit of Malik Agbo, Shazz Preston, Kam Dewberry, Ohio State verbal Terrance Brooks and Texas A&M verbal Bryce Anderson.
