Nobody is safe from April Fools’ Day. On Tuesday, college football programs across the country fooled fans with hilarious, fake announcements.

Florida Atlantic football announced on X the program will be implementing palm-tree uprights at Flagler Credit Union Stadium this fall. In the west, Arizona State and California football each claimed they will be painting their fields solid colors next season, similar to Boise State‘s notorious blue field.

In the comments of each post, some fans immediately realized the programs were joking while others were completely falling for the pranks. In fact, some fans even liked several of the ideas.

For example, several members of the Virginia faithful were excited to hear the Cavaliers were putting in “state-of-the-art” metal bleachers at Scott Stadium. Tiger Woods pulls April Fools’ Day prank on internet

College football teams weren’t the only ones finding ways to have fun with fans on April Fools’ Day. On March 11, legendary golfer Tiger Woods announced he’d ruptured his Achilles tendon and would miss a significant portion of the 2025 slate of events.

“As I began to ramp up my own training and practice at home, I felt a sharp pain in my left Achilles, which was deemed to be ruptured,” Woods wrote. “This morning, Dr. Charlton Stucken of Hospital for Special Surgery in West Palm Beach, Florida performed a minimally-invasive Achilles tendon repair for a ruptured tendon.”

Fans were understandably devastated as Woods was expected to be out for several months with the injury. However, on Tuesday, Woods stunned fans when he provided a shockingly positive update on his recovery.

“I can’t believe I am saying this, but a few weeks after rupturing my left Achilles, the sleeping in a hyperbaric chamber plus the explosive lifts my doctors and trainers have me ready to play the Masters next week! Can’t wait! See y’all on the course,” Woods wrote on X.

Before even considering Woods was playing a cruel joke, thousands of fans flooded to the post, celebrating his miraculous recovery. Alas, Woods didn’t allow the prank to simmer for long.

“P.S. April Fools my Achilles is still a mess :),” Woods wrote less than 10 minutes later.

Understandably, some people didn’t find Woods’ prank funny. Nonetheless, fans will have no choice but to keep their guard up on Tuesday until the prank-filled holiday comes to an end.
