The second contract is between the school and Rhule’s LLC, MRJR Ventures, licensed out of Delaware in 2018.
What might be new in the industry: Through the LLC deal, Nebraska paid MRJR Ventures $5 million this spring to purchase Rhule’s intellectual property rights, for the duration of his tenure at NU.
Signed March 31, 2026, the deal pays roughly 19% of the 2026 salary on Rhule’s term sheet and 25% annually after that. When he makes $10 million in 2027, $7.5 million goes to Rhule and $2.5 million goes to the LLC..
NU now owns the “House Rhules” podcast, which has more than 12,000 subscribers, with episodes routinely attracting more than 50,000 views. Nebraska could collect speaking fees should Rhule be paid to give a speech, or it could put Rhule’s face on a cup and sell it for profit.

Seems like a fireable for cause offense to me.
In all seriousness though, those IP rights are worthless to us. Or will be once he's gone.

As I understand this (article was behind a pay wall so I'm just going by the posted excerpt), in order for NU to make any money from this, we need things like Rhule's podcast, speaking engagements, appearances, etc to kill it. However, that's objectively in direct conflict with needing him allocating his time toward coaching football.Rhule doesn’t even possess the horsepower to produce IP unreal

In fact, most real coaches HATE that kind of stuff. Rhule not only apparently likes it, he has it in his contract to benefit the school the more he does it? There just seems to be, yet again, so much wrong with this whole thing. Did we make money from Rhule going to Vegas for the fight the week of the Michigan game? Did we get paid for him ziplining through downtown the night before our bowl game? Did we get a cut of some kind of appearance fee at the Kentucky Derby? And I'm not joking.Make sure to subscribe to the podcast.

I might buy some Rhule themed toilet paper to wipe my ass. Other than that, what a terrible deal.
