Vanguard (Florida) releases 2025 high school football schedule

Looking at the landscape of Florida high school football and a team that’s been consistently one of the best in their respective region are the Ocala Vanguard Knights. The Mid-Central Florida program is a mainstay when it comes down to always being one of the better teams out of the 352.

Vanguard with being one of the upper echelon teams in the region also look to annually put together a tough regular season slate of games and this 2025 campaign will play out no differently.

Knights’ head coach Edwin Farmer provided On3 the team’s fall regular season slate and it’s filled with some of Florida’s better high school football squads.

Farmer’s bunch will kick the season off against Class 6A state semifinalist Gainesville Buchholz on the road at Citizens Field, in what should be the top game in the area. After an away game against Lake Minneola, Vanguard squares off against a Newberry team that reached the Class 2A region finals last fall.

Noticeable games in the latter half of the Knights’ schedule include home tilts versus Palm Beach Central in mid-October and against Ocala Forest on Halloween.

The Knights are coming off a solid 2024 campaign in which Farmer’s bunch finished with an 11-2 record and reached the Florida High School Athletic Association’s (FHSAA) Class 4A, Region 2 final. Vanguard would fall to state finalist Orlando Jones on the road, 27-13.

August 29th – on the road at Lake Minneola, 7 p.m.

September 5th – on the road at Newberry, 7:30 p.m.

September 12th – home versus Leesburg, 7:30 p.m.

September 19th – home versus Dunnellon, 7:30 p.m.

September 26th – home versus Lecanto, 7:30 p.m.

October 3rd – on the road at Citra North Marion, 7 p.m.

October 17th – home versus Palm Beach Central, 7:30 p.m.

October 24th – on the road at Gainesville, 7 p.m.

October 31st – home versus Ocala Forest, 7:30 p.m.
