Texas High School Football: No. 5 Randle scores 83 points in playoff rout

Few programs in Texas high school football have been as dominant as Richmond Randle this season. In the first two rounds of the the playoffs alone, they’ve averaged 56.5 points per game en route to a pair of huge wins.

But the Lions took things to another level on Saturday in regional round of the 5A-Division II bracket against a talented Bastrop team. Buoyed by an all-time playoff performance from junior running back Landen Williams-Callis, Randle crushed Bastrop 83-20 to move on to the state quarterfinals next weekend.

Williams-Callis, who ranks as the No. 3 running back in the 2027 class, racked up 319 yards and six touchdowns to lead the offense. And that came a week after he was forced to leave the Lions’ win over Pflugerville with an injury.

Five of Williams-Callis’ touchdowns came in the first half, as Randle jumped out to a 55-13 lead heading into halftime. By the end of the third quarter, the Lions led 76-13 and then added another touchdown in the fourth for good measure.

Randle, which now sits at 13-0, moves on to face Iowa Colony in the quarterfinals next weekend.
