Texas High School Football: No. 23 Duncanville crushes No. 9 Allen

The University Interscholastic League (UIL) Class 6A-I football state semifinals pitted two nationally ranked teams against one another on Saturday afternoon, with one proving they wanted it just a little bit more when it came to reaching the championship.

Behind a dominant defensive effort and a explosive offensive showing, No. 23 Duncanville cruised to a 31-9 victory over No. 9 Allen at Eagle Stadium.

With the victory, Duncanville will move on to next week’s Class 6A-I state championship game and will face North Shore, a 28-6 winner over Lake Travis in the opposite semifinal.

A touchdown by Zach Turner with 7:22 remaining in the game to give Duncanville a 24-9 lead was the cushion the Panthers’ defense needed in order to come away with the win. The Panthers added another touchdown for good measure as they held one of the state’s most prolific scoring attacks to just nine points on the afternoon.

Duncanville was a team that was questioned early on after a surprising loss to Waxahachie during the regular season. Ever since that point, the Panthers have won 10 in a row and if you count today’s decision, it’s 11 straight victories for arguably one of Texas high school football’s hottest teams heading into the UIL state championships.

For Allen, it was a season that looked like it could end with a trip to the state championship as they entered the day undefeated and conclude it with their lone loss of 2025.
