Senior QB transfers from one Texas high school football team to another

Melissa High School lost a potential starting quarterback when Noah Schuback transferred from a Texas high school football team to California’s Poway High School. In his lone season with the Cardinals, Schuback finished his junior season with 1,985 passing yards and 33 touchdowns (25 passing). These numbers helped the three-star prospect land offers from Purdue, Ole Miss, Marshall, and Texas Tech, among others.

However, as Dallas Morning News’ Greg Riddle wrote, Melissa head coach Matt Nally said they will be welcoming Brett Holloway, who will transfer from Allen to Melissa for his final Texas high school football season. As a junior, Holloway attempted only two passes. However, he had 328 rushing yards, 199 passing yards, and four touchdowns.

Nally added that Holloway also returned kicks and punts for Allen, Texas high school football’s ninth-best team, last season. He’s a hybrid type of quarterback who patterned his game after Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts, and Jayden Daniels.

While Holloway brings different facets to the Melissa offense, college football programs are still figuring out where they can use the versatility of this quarterback. While he has one year of high school football left, Holloway shared that he received an offer from North Texas University.
