It was a slow start out of the gates for both teams. Millennium held Owyhee to 10 and 11 points in the first two periods, while it notched just 13 points in both quarters. Things picked up in the second half as Owhyee won the third quarter 19-18. Diggs then took over in the fourth, dropping 12 of his 24 points to help put the game away.
Millennium won all four of its games this week by double digits. It took down Brentwood (Calif.), ‘Iolani (Hi.), Bolingbrook (Ill.) and Owyhee. The Storm surprised many and picked up a big win over Harvard-Westlake (Calif.) in the semifinals. Haustveit, one of the top players in the field this week, scored 15 in that win over the Wolverines.
The Tigers rank as the No. 18 team in the nation and No. 3 team in Arizona, according to the Rivals Composite Rankings. They continue to build an impressive national résumé.
