Jeremy Hathcock to become next Perry (Ariz.) head football coach

Mesa (Ariz.) head football coach Jeremy Hathcock looks to be on the move over in the Grand Canyon State.

According to Adam Beadle of ArizonaVarsity.com on Wednesday morning, Hathcock is leaving Mesa after one season at the helm and heading to become the next head football coach at Perry. The Pumas were one of Arizona’s Top 25 high school football teams throughout the 2025 season, finishing with a 6-6 record.

Hathcock leaves a Mesa Jackrabbits bunch that finished 7-5 last season and reached the quarterfinal round of the AIA Conference 6A playoffs, losing a heartbreaker to Centennial, 41-39.

Perry is slated to return multiple key offensive pieces to the roster, including Boise State three-star quarterback commitment Kael Snyder and sophomore three-star wide receiver Amos Augustine. Snyder threw for 2,720 yards and 27 touchdowns in 2025 and Augustine hauled in 42 passes for 780 yards and seven scores last fall.

The Pumas ended this past season finishing at No. 18 in the final 2025 Arizona high school football rankings.
