Georgia High School Football: Bainbridge releases 2026 schedule

After back-to-back 1-9 seasons, Bainbridge football is looking to usher in a new era.

The Bearcats have brought in Jamey DuBose, a three-time state champion in Alabama, to be the next head coach. Despite reports stating that the job that re-opened earlier this month, DuBose remains in charge and participated in a meet-and-greet last week.

With the focus moving to improvement on the field in 2026, Bainbridge has now released its schedule for next season. It will begin at home against Ware County, a top-50 team in Georgia last season, on Aug. 21.

In 2025, Bainbridge finished as the No. 239 team in Georgia, according to the Rivals Composite Rankings. The Bearcats won their final game of the season, defeating Dougherty 28-21 to avoid a winless campaign.

This is a program that’s not far removed from consistently winning games. While the last two years have been poor, Bainbridge won nine games in 2023 and was a power under former head coach Jeff Littleton. Under Littleton, the Bearcats went 91-42 and won multiple AAAA region championships.

DuBose’s most recent stop was at Biloxi (Miss.), where he guided the Indians the last two seasons with an overall record of 8-14. DuBose, who has an overall record of 174-69 all-time, stepped down as the Biloxi coach earlier this month ahead of accepting the job at Bainbridge, which parted ways with Jay Walls during the 2025 season after a 0-6 start.

Now DuBose takes over the Bainbridge job with high expectations after he’s already had coaching stops at Biloxi, Prattville (Ala.), Central-Phenix City (Ala.), Orange Beach (Ala.) and Lowndes (GA). DuBose led Prattville to state championships in 2008 and 2011, while also leading Phenix City Central to a title in 2018.
