Florida High School Football: Lecanto unveils 2026 slate

High school football schedules for the 2026 season are coming out one-by-one out of every state around the country and one that is a breeding ground for college prospects is Florida, with a number of squads finalizing their fall slates.

Lecanto Panthers (Fla.) football team is the next Florida high school to announce their 2026 schedule of games as the team will head into the season under the direction of a new head coach. Wyatt Wesley took over as Lecanto’s lead man after serving as the team’s offensive line coach and assistant head coach the last three seasons under Antoin Scriven and Jacob Coulson, respectively.

The Panthers will be in transition offensively as the team graduates four-year starting quarterback JT Tipton, who during his time as the Lecanto starter threw for 7,041 yards and 74 touchdowns between 2022 and 2025.

Aug. 14 – at Umatilla, 7:30 p.m. – Preseason game
Aug. 21 – at Madison County, 7:30 p.m.
Aug. 28 – Citrus, 7:30 p.m.
Sep. 4 – at Crystal River, 7:30 p.m.
Sep. 11 – at Gainesville, 7:30 p.m.
Sep. 18 – Villages Charter School, 7:30 p.m.
Sep. 25 – at Lake Weir, 7:30 p.m.
Oct. 9 – Leesburg, 7:30 p.m.
Oct. 16 – Vanguard, 7:30 p.m.
Oct. 23 – Mt. Dora, 7:30 p.m.
Oct. 30 – at Fivay, 7:30 p.m.

The Panthers finished with a 6-5 record and ranked as the No. 228, according to the final Florida 2025 High School Football Massey Rankings.
